No, a proper wheel loader with 1.5 tons lifting capacity.

If the rented equipment breaks, it is insured and you can be completely relaxed. Especially when sharing a device that has been jointly purchased, trouble is guaranteed if an expensive repair is needed. Should everyone pay in equal shares, even though they have used it differently, or should only the one pay whose equipment broke?

I have also already looked at used wheel loaders; the affordable offers have no tread left, hydraulic fluid is leaking everywhere, etc. Unfortunately, it is not worth it at all.

A mini excavator would have the charm that we could also lift it into an empty fish pond with the front loader to clean it.

We have now calculated whether it would be worth it and for which purposes we would need an excavator, and we have already found quite a few. With a property area of 4700m² and a fish pond area of 5200m², this is not surprising.

Now we just have to find the right excavator...

Better bigger than smaller. Unfortunately, the small ones don’t lift very much weight. Ours is now in the almost finished garden and I can’t part with it.

It is a 3.5t from Kubota, which was previously rented out at Boels. However, note that you no longer transport anything over 2.7t by car; for that, you need a truck. Due to the crisis, prices could slowly become attractive. In previous years, they were driven up especially in spring by the small garden landscaping companies...
