A front loader is not meant for earthworks and you don’t dig a trench with it either. But everyone has to know that for themselves. Just look at what these things cost new, it’s not exactly cheap. Then you also understand why such a machine can’t be rented for 30 euros a day...

You don't use heavy machinery for that either, it compacts the soil too much. But of course, it depends on what you want to do. 20 cubic meters is not a large amount, we distributed 10 cubic meters of topsoil by hand in two days with two people, and we are office workers. With an excavator, it's done in no time, even if it's a small one. The excavator was only really in operation for one day for filling the site; otherwise, it was used with a trenching bucket for digging. I think we had the small excavator there for a total of 5 days. What do you want to do for 30 days?!

The new prices really shocked me just now. There isn't really much to those things.

We discussed this here on the street, there are 10 builders... Just share it.

But seriously, while I need a vibrating plate every now and then for 10 minutes to half an hour (and definitely buying one pays off), that doesn’t really make sense for a mini excavator. I pay 120€ here with insurance, trailer, and fuel for one day. How many days do I have to rent it?

Excavation work can be concentrated into one day and then completed. Boels, for example, also has a 3-for-2 weekend deal, and they’re quiet, so you can work with them on Sunday as well.

Alternatively: Let’s check with Jansen. Front loader means tractor? Jansen has a mini excavator for the three-point hitch for next to nothing.
