Hello dear house building forum,
we are currently desperate with our floor plan planning.
The approval plans were already signed when feedback came from the technical inspection (developer).
The room length of the bedroom/workroom, or the length of the central purlin running through it, would be too long (approximately 660cm, may only be 600cm).
With our architect, we have now tried to work out options, but none of them are really ideal.
Attached is the first plan, how we wanted to use the dressing room with window as a workroom, without a wall, possibly optically separated by a closet.
Since the central purlin is now apparently too long, a post would have to be inserted (post option), which we definitely do not want.
Now with this option there is still the possibility to "hide" the post with an interior wall. Only if we run the wall from bottom to top, the light from the work window is very hidden. Running the wall from top to bottom would let the light through, but then you would always look at the desk from the bed, which is also unattractive.
The last option (move wall) that occurred to us, since the length of the central purlin is the problem, why not simply move the wall of the left children's room to the right so that the total length of the central purlin is exactly 600cm. The only disadvantage here is that the children's rooms are now asymmetrical and the desk moves further into the room. This means that we possibly can no longer place the closet as a visual barrier.
Do you have any ideas on how we can improve our planning here? Ideally so that no visible post has to stand in the middle of the room? :D
Thanks in advance :)
