Microwave cabinet or just cabinet?

Hello everyone,

for our new kitchen, we want to have the microwave at a comfortable working height and place it in a wall cabinet.
There is a microwave cabinet for that:

However, this only comes with another door on top.
We wanted to design it more open, like this cabinet:

Will this work just as well? The microwave cabinet has a metallic strip at the bottom, what is that for?

35 cm microwave
5 cm strip

= 60 cm total height (corresponding to the cabinet height)

Sorry, I obviously meant the one with 60 cm width. More open regarding the overall appearance. If there is no cabinet above, the simple cabinet looks more like a shelf. But OK, the strip is just decorative, the microwave cabinet is not somehow more stable or otherwise better suited to hold a microwave than the simple one, right?
