here is our floor plan

sofa and TV are swapped though.

all connections for TV are on the right side

a surface-mounted cable duct looks really shabby of course

So what now? Sofa and TV swapped or TV actually on the right side of the plan?

Sorry that is the right plan just like the one in the photo

we initially had a plan that was the other way around :) I still had that in my mind

Build a front panel with a drywall board, maybe even light it all around and veneer it or something like that? It makes it an eye-catcher and there is enough space for cables too

Otherwise, get a 40x40 cable duct at the hardware store and put it in, then plaster over it and paint it

The plugs need space, not the cables themselves
It’s then more or less permanent

We have a small glued-on one for power, 2x HDMI, 1x LAN and 1x USB

I don't know, we need to think about the drywall [Rigipswand] again, but it's rather less of an option. We also don't have much space for the furniture until the patio door comes. Is a 40x40 cable duct enough for all the cables? It could probably be too tight for them to always remain replaceable, right? The cables should definitely remain replaceable. Would it be structurally problematic to remove 8cm width and 6cm depth and put in a multimedia duct and then plaster it up again? The following cables must go through and should remain replaceable: 1x power (always different thickness), 4x HDMI 2.1, 1x LAN, 1x USB (USB and LAN could be left out in an absolute emergency).

From where to where is the surface-mounted duct supposed to go – on the right side from the media devices up to the TV or what? With 15cm exterior bricks? If you are a fan of Einstürzende Neubauten (no, not the 80s industrial band) go ahead! When I read 4x HDMI – what is that supposed to bring? With HDMI the connector is by far the bulkiest part – and by the way, you can also get it as micro-HDMI (for example micro-HDMI on one side for threading through and HDMI on the other side, with the micro-plug then converted back to standard HDMI using a plug-on adapter) with the advantage of a significantly reduced cross-section. Furthermore, there are also HDMI wireless transmission systems, for just over three digits. Combined with a fourfold passive switch or the switching option on the receiver, the HDMI hassle is completely eliminated. For USB there are also adapters to RJ45 cables. And for an RJ45 together with a 3x1.5mm power cable you only need a simple empty conduit of 25mm easily, if without bends maybe even 20mm. You don’t need the equivalent of a KG pipe like in the toilet chiseled retroactively into the wall... apart from the structure, you actually shouldn’t make such slots on the wall towards the neighbor, so be glad that it now concerns the exterior wall.
