You at most gain the illusion of control. When showering with hot water, the steam can escape better if something is open at the top. If toilet odor bothers you greatly, then install something like a SOG or consider a composting toilet. Then the odor doesn’t even get into the room.

I honestly admit: I don’t like these (unplanned) T-things at all. There are far too many disadvantages. A T needs to be planned from the start so that the toilet gets its bright spot, the shower its sufficiently long space, and the bathroom still has room to stay in. A parallel arrangement (seen by many as rather boring) is elegant if you can speak of left and right. Here, I see three parallel arrangements and no space at all. The tub is in the way, and if you plan one or the other shelf for a small decoration or a basket with bathing accessories—in other words, a pedestal (preferably one on each side)—it will be cramped, because otherwise the corners take away the necessary space to walk (I don’t even want to start with staying).

Or like this: without the T is also possible. Well?

I quickly sketched this with the same values... The shower screen is shorter and the seating area is quite uncomfortable. The tub with a length of 180 has hardly any space. There is no room for a pedestal for sponge and brushes and a stack of towels.

Very, very exciting what you are writing here. The different perspectives and arguments are incredibly valuable! We will reflect on this again and take a closer look at and think through your individual suggestions. We are also not entirely sure about the T-solution. We see the aspect of not quite optimal use of space as well. But we really like the look. And if you only raise the walls halfway - as suggested here - and then complete them with glass, at least the aspect of missing daylight would be eliminated. We still have concerns about whether the length of the shower would be sufficient, or if a glass door would then be needed, which we actually no longer wanted.
