I could personally live with both – each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Living on the ground floor:
Short distances to the house or the living area, kitchen, etc.
A nice balcony or even better a beautiful roof terrace with direct access (stairs) to the garden. What is the view like?
Bedrooms in the quiet basement with access to the garden (great for children if they can go directly from their room outside to play, especially when friends are over).

Alternatively:
Living in the basement, but with an entrance on the ground floor for me. So, the cloakroom is upstairs – downstairs can be designed nicely open and spacious. Bedrooms then also upstairs on the ground floor.

So I guess it depends on the surroundings. But I would choose the access via the ground floor anyway, because spreading salt or shoveling snow in winter and then going down only to go back up inside the house – I wouldn’t like that.
Besides, with a child and lots of stuff (stroller, baby seat, etc…?!) constantly going up and down the stairs outside? No, that wouldn’t be for me.

Hello
As I gather from your entire letter, you are not satisfied with the property.
If I were you, I would look for something else, after all it should fit
Are there no other properties?

No, the building area is probably the last one to be developed in our town for the time being. And our goal is also to stay there, we don’t want to move to the surrounding area. But the ideas are also progressing, we were at our architect’s again yesterday. She presented the possibilities with a split level. So you enter from the street and go up or down 8 steps. For now, we were only concerned with what is possible with our piece of land. As a basis for deciding for or against the purchase. And since we don’t have to deal with such a steep slope, it seems that this approach can achieve a nice result. I mean, you always have to walk stairs on a slope, no matter whether it’s on the uphill or downhill side.

Yes, I can gladly show that when we are ready. But it would still be too early... I am also curious about what is coming, really excited. And also about the comments when we look at the plan in detail, but first we need to find out at which height level the road is supposed to be built. Because that is still completely unclear and we cannot get specific yet. The same applies to a few other things. The finalized development plan is supposed to be available in June, however, we have to go to the notary in April; maybe I can postpone that to gain time.
