Hello dear people,

my wife and I are looking for a place for the sofa and TV in our future living room (the house is currently under construction).
We have two ideas, but we are not completely convinced by either of them. If you had another good idea or could share your opinion on ours, it would be very helpful for us.
I have attached two photos here with the floor plan and the layout of the sofa and TV position as we had thought.
The two floor-to-ceiling windows face the west side and the other floor-to-ceiling window faces the south side.
We would really appreciate your opinions.
Best regards

Two ideas: 1. Move the terrace door to the right towards the TV 2. Swap the kitchen and living area (Only roughly drawn the position without regard to proportional relationship)

Thank you,

Changes to the floor plan are no longer possible, the shell construction is already completed.

Well, then you should first properly furnish the room with the current kitchen plan and also measure the dining table. Additionally, say how big the sofa is. I consider both variants in post 1 to be more than unfortunate, as the room with 838 cm is not that spacious.

Could a terrace door still be turned into a window with a parapet?

And honestly, these are thoughts you have before the start of construction.

I find the whole room generally a bit small to fit kitchen, dining table, and sofa in there. Just for comparison, we have 10.8m length instead of your 8.40, and I already don't find that too much. But if the furniture is not too big, it should work. And I also have to agree with , something like that should at least be roughly known during planning and not only start now.

Plan 1: Is probably the most sensible, but you are blocking the floor-to-ceiling window, then you wouldn’t have had to do that. Unfortunately, the distance between sofa and table is quite tight here as well.

Plan 2: too little distance between sofa and TV and you can no longer get between sofa and table.
