I had also looked at the Beton plus series. Might also be something to consider.

Can porcelain stoneware also be laid in a gravel bed? We don’t want to glue it yet, and we don’t like these pedestals because of the hollow sound.

In the first approach, it’s also a cost question. €20/m² versus €70/m². Since the terrace will be done first before any hedge or lawn seed is planted, the idea was to choose something cheaper initially. Once everything is finished, then switch to something higher quality. My landscaping guy also said that porcelain stoneware can’t be set as well in a gravel bed and that a different construction is preferable. But apparently, it works that way too.

hm, so the 90/90 from my brother that I also laid in 60/60 cost 33€ per square meter and were from Hornbach. No panel had to be cut afterwards and so far I haven't been able to detect any other defects ;-)

I guess I was overcome by my subjectivity :D. I really thought it was like that, but what you say makes sense to me.

“Hollow cavity noises”?? Ufff, we had such pedestal slabs on the roof terrace for 30 years, and I think it’s great. The water drains perfectly, you can replace slabs, you don’t wash sand out of the joints when steaming off, etc.
Honestly, the noise thing sounds unfamiliar to me. You walk on the terrace barefoot, in flip-flops, or ordinary shoes, and I absolutely can’t imagine such a disturbing noise.
