My father had separated part of the living room in the ground floor apartment of our house several years ago and fitted it with a huge shop window facing the street. At that time, this was necessary to advertise the business. Later, the partition wall between the shop window and the living room was completely removed, and the entire apartment was rented out as commercial space. Now I need the apartment again for private use and face the problem of how best to separate the living room from the shop window. Problem: I would like to use the light coming in from the shop window for the living room. If I were to simply put up a partition wall made of drywall, I could cut two window-sized holes in it. But that would look rather odd. I am considering not putting up any partition at all and covering the shop window with a film that is transparent only from the inside. I am simply looking for an affordable and "elegant" solution to the problem and would be grateful for a few good ideas.

Hello

I would recommend blinds or curtains, inexpensive, elegant.

Regards

Sure, you would have to take a close look on site. I am in favor of curtains, that is the simplest and most affordable option. I can also imagine a partition wall, that would then have to be decided on site.

I could recommend a kind of wall sticker for the window. These provide privacy from outside to inside but still let light through so that it doesn't get dark in the living room.

Best regards and good luck

I would also decorate the window. These window tattoos are, of course, a matter of taste, but if someone wants that, why not. There is already a wide selection for it and it is easy to apply.

My brother has now redecorated his apartment with a storefront window again. He put up window tattoos. I find that quite funny and it is a good privacy screen. He chose a design with flowers.
