Where can you still get a plasma these days? I wouldn't want to give up my Panasonic either - but I would like to have a bigger version (65 inches+).

Unfortunately not at all - I am not giving up my 2012 Pana VT50 in 65" either. The old 50" Pana hangs in the bedroom :D False information has unfortunately caused this top-notch technology to become extinct...

I have a 5.1 system with cables running inside the wall. Along with a 42-inch TV that is completely sufficient. Both for Bundesliga and for movies. You can hardly watch with the kids anyway – when they are around, the TV is off or Sandmann is on,... An extra TV room? Who would play with the kids then? As long as they are small, it doesn't make sense. When they get older, they can play alone in their rooms, then I can watch football in the living room, I don't need an extra room for that.
