Just post a photo of the dam (as seen from the construction site) here, then you can better imagine it (distance to the house and height).
Exactly. In the photo in the post about the property, I see a lot of greenery and nothing of the lake. And for a lake view property, are you interested in modular construction (?)
Of course the kitchen will also be upstairs, right? In that case, the long distances after shopping are the only disadvantages.
For practical reasons, I would always cook on the floor where it is also served. But in multi-story apartments, you also have the kitchen where you live, and not all people live on the ground floor. The axe in the house replaces the carpenter – or the stairs replace the stepper.
I think I did not describe the geographical location precisely enough in the initial post.
To the north of the property, there is a dam, and behind it a nature reserve. This area is forested, and I probably cannot see over these trees myself even from the third floor.
To the west, there is still an empty plot and then a one-and-a-half-story building. After that, the lake or harbor.
Attached is the picture. The property is marked with a red X and the dam is marked with blue.
Somehow I don’t understand the problem with the dam? If it is located north of the property and does not obstruct the view to the west, its height should not be relevant, right? Apart from that, I wouldn’t orient living spaces (mostly) towards the north, because light and warmth are more important to me than a view of the forest...
You won't be able to overlook the trees in the northeast and besides, you never have any sun there. Why don't you build a house similar to the neighbor two houses to your right with a nice terrace on the third floor? Or at least a balcony on the first floor facing west?
