I am not talking about accounting, nor about completely legitimate profit-making intentions, but about profit maximization due to deliberate incompatibility. Or do you have an explanation for why, for example, in the mentioned tabletops, the drill holes are now set so precisely that you absolutely cannot use old table legs with them, even though it would be perfectly possible to continue using the old drill holes? A tabletop does not force you to change something like that. IKEA always talks so much about sustainability. So why do they force customers to buy new items instead of allowing them to combine old elements with the new ones?
