Hello everyone,

I have attached the section of the garage including the workshop part.

The lighting was actually planned to be the 7 large yellow rectangles drawn. They were supposed to be LED panels. Possibly 40x40cm, but I had not yet decided on the size.
Now I have marked the garage door and the attic hatch in orange. The number 20 is still written at the garage door because when the garage door is open, it only goes up to the first orange line and 20 cm further comes the profile frame of the guide rails. The motor is located right under the central panel. At least this central lamp no longer makes sense. I am now pondering whether I should simply leave it out and implement the rest as planned or do it completely differently now.
For example, I noticed that I might possibly need more light in the workshop area where the workbench is supposed to go (top left of the plan in front of the window).

The room should possibly also be used for a birthday party in winter, so it should not just be a bit of dim light.

How have you solved this?

I would probably install 2 LED tubes near the ceiling on the left and right sides of the wall each, and possibly also provide a desk lamp in the workshop area for close-range lighting.
That should illuminate a low garage better than the panels from above and overall be more than sufficient – it’s a garage, not an operating room.
For any celebrations, put a socket next to each LED tube so you can connect string lights there – I find those much more appropriate for a (birthday) party. A few candles on the tables too, all good ;-)

Hm. Well, it’s not that low - 2.75m. I prefer too much light and dim it down. The other way around is difficult. I also want to work on the motorcycle or vacuum the car or something like that.

Without defining LED as a buzzword ... I wouldn't even use LEDs... ahem... They don't burn constantly, they are not the best... why not simply use halogen? :) It's not like I don't have LEDs, but for work lighting halogen is just more comfortable.

So my garage is about 7 x 6 and I have installed 6 double LED tubes there. It is very bright. I would recommend it.

And how did you arrange them? Did you leave out the area where the garage door is when open?
