Hello everyone,

we have a 65QM large room with 2*5m and 1*4M window area. Pitched roof which we do not want to lower.
On the low side we have a finished room height of 3 meters, due to the roof pitch we have about 4.5M clear room height at the highest point.

Do you think this could be acoustically relevant and we should set up measures for it? If yes, what?
The floor covering is tiles, it is an all-purpose room with living, cooking, dining.

Do you have an idea for a nice lighting concept with sloping ceilings?
Cooking, dining, living should be able to be illuminated separately.

Thanks, regards

Since the floor and ceiling are not parallel surfaces, a standing wave is already somewhat counteracted despite the square floor plan. So it should not become "boomy." If it does, for example, a Helmholtz resonator or an active solution from Rocket Science or PSI Audio can help. Reflections from large surfaces can, in combination with the room size, lead to reverberation effects. Large-scale acoustic elements on the ceiling are maximally effective in this regard. Surfaces that absorb mid and higher audible frequencies reduce the room's tendency to reverberate. Furniture, carpet, curtains contribute to this. Additionally, irregular surfaces such as a large bookshelf also help, as they scatter sound in many directions. Light is a matter of taste. A lighting object floating in the room can be amazing, for example [Next Cosmo]. Differentiate between functional and ambient light during planning and consider where you are often in the room, what you do or do not do there, and where your gaze will, should, want to wander.

Acoustic ceilings look more like office style. I have also found absorbers that we might somehow integrate, we'll see. Thanks! I have also already thought about pendant lights. We also have the separation of function and ambiance in mind. hmm

There are also acoustic ceilings that do not radiate an office atmosphere
Above the dining area a pendant light. In the living area a floor lamp...
