Hello,
we recently visited a tile studio and saw a laying technique without skirting boards or profiles.
At the wall edge, the tiles simply stopped, it looked as if there was no additional finish at all.
With a 90-degree installation, the upper horizontal tile was simply placed flush on the lower tile, of course you can see the edge on the upper tile, but it did not look worse than with skirting board or Jolly cut, etc.
Does anyone know if this laying technique has any disadvantages or if the technique has a special name?
I could imagine that the edges are more prone to damage upon contact than skirting boards.
