Hello, I wanted to lay new cables in an old building since the old ones are no longer the best. What cable thickness/cross-section is best to use for computer/bedroom/living and dining room? A new fuse box will also have to be installed. Do all the old cables have to be removed from the wall or is it enough to simply deactivate them.

Best regards

Maik

Hello Maik!!
I'm not an electrician, but I could help you with a few things. I would say for lights, sockets, switches, etc., I would use a 1.5 wire, for kitchen appliances, etc., 2.5.
I would say you definitely need a new fuse box 1. more fuses and 2. the rating of your circuit breakers.
But I would like to give you a tip: have it checked by an electrician who will tell you what you need, and who knows, maybe you even need a [Stempel].
You don't have to have everything done by him (chasing, conduit installation, pulling wires, etc., you can do yourself), but I would have a trained professional connect it to the fuse box, otherwise who knows, your house might burn down.
Best regards ;)

Hello, thank you for the reply
The fuse box should be installed by an electrician because I don't dare to do it myself :)

Best regards

Hello Maik!! I think the fuse box wouldn't be such a big problem either because connecting the circuit breakers themselves is actually quite easy. The problem might still be the main power line.. The question there is whether it is still in order. That's why a professional would be the best solution who tells you what you need, etc. What you then negotiate with him and what you do on your own can only get cheaper. Best regards ;)
