But it makes no sense to fertilize the lawn that has grown somewhat over the winter in order to make it grow even more, only to mow it afterwards. Unlike with the wheat field, we do not want to wait until the ears form to mow, but rather create a short, dense carpet.

There is a long-term fertilizer with weed control from wolf. Works great. I apply it by hand, simply broadcast. New lawns really do not need scarifying, but I have two different "cylinders", a second one for "aerating". These are wire springs that comb out the thatch and do not cut into the surface. Scarifying rather in autumn to prevent waterlogging. Moss control with iron fertilizer and after a week lawn aerator!

About the fertilizer. I have had the best experiences with the agricultural mix for cereals. MNSP. Magnesium Nitrogen Sulfur Phosphorus, plus a little Potassium. Also available for non-farmers through the company Agroshop in 25 kg bags, they also ship. The fertilizer lasts quite long, improves the crumb structure of the soil, which leads to increased earthworm colonization, the K content prevents moss, moss prefers acidic conditions, K makes it alkaline, and lawns tolerate this stuff very well because cereals are ultimately also grass.
