I would definitely try to switch to the new property. Otherwise, you will be upset forever. If properties are as scarce as you say, a sale should be doable. Were there perhaps other interested parties when you bought it? Maybe they are still interested?

Our property was actually not very sought after because it was quite overgrown. But my husband has now spent several hours every evening after work cleaning it up completely, and now it really looks great. I think it should be no problem to sell it well now.

Do you know when the plot in the new development area will be buildable? I'm not sure, but could something like that still take a few years? That would be annoying if you could already spend time in your own house by then.

We looked at it today and everything is already completely finished. The road is there, the sewer is there, electricity, etc.
Even the groundworks for the individual plots are completed to the extent that you could place a foundation slab directly on them.

The "old" property cost €165,000 for 1100 sqm. Relatively cheap for our area. But we had to invest quite a bit of work to make it accessible at all. It was very overgrown.

The house is planned as far as possible, building application not yet submitted.
