For the brushwood? I would borrow a shredder, get power from the neighbor in exchange for a crate of beer, shred everything and pile it up in the corner. After the house is built, mix it into the topsoil. First-class fertilizer

I would first look into the tree protection ordinance of your city. There you can see when you are allowed to do what. I think you can have the blackberry bushes cleared out all year round. I would also leave the trees standing if they are not in the way. Otherwise, I would ask the construction contractor what he wants for clearing and removing the bushes. We had a thuja hedge here that had to go because the construction site access was going there. We cut it down ourselves and had the roots removed by the excavator that was here for the demolition and replacement of the soil anyway. We then had the greenery and roots disposed of by the construction contractor as well.

We had our approximately 400 sqm property cleared of blackberry bushes and some smaller trees and a hedge. We paid about €1800 including removal and disposal. You must not underestimate those things; they were very deeply rooted, and we were glad we didn’t do it ourselves. There was also one fruit tree on the property; certain diameter measurements apply to be able to cut it down without permission. At the edge of the property, there were three false cypresses. We wanted to keep those. However, during the start of construction, it turned out they were in the way and had to be removed after all. Since there is also a summer felling ban from March to September, I had to have a report on breeding and nesting sites prepared for the cypresses (€203), which then had to be submitted to the environmental office for tree-felling permission during the summer felling ban (€94). Our earthworks contractor dug the trees out in a few minutes with the excavator and then put them in the container; that cost us about €800 including disposal. In hindsight, I would remove everything within the construction site and several meters around it during the allowed period! Everything that grows back or appears again in any way in the meantime is removed by the earthworks contractor anyway, which is not a huge effort.

I would have everything done right away by the tree cutter. Some earthwork companies prefer the site to be cleared. The costs for us for an almost 1,500 sqm woodland plot (see photos) were about €10,500. Included were:
- complete clearing except for at least 14 trees (mandatory). The stumps were also pulled out and disposed of.
- complete clearing of the site
- we charged fully for the trees after we learned that they have to dry for at least 2 years before we can use them for the fireplace.
- in the end, we left a green strip (approx. 20 x 8 m).

A tip: Ask for an invoice that also lists the personnel costs. These can be claimed for tax purposes.

I would also have local contractors and possibly [Baumschulen] provide quotes. If someone has a large milling machine, they might just be able to drive over it.

I would not mill out the stumps, but pull them out with the excavator. That is the safer option.
