The living/dining room of our currently planned single-family house faces 100% south and has an approximately 3.7 meter high glass front (triple glazing).
My original way of thinking was: For burglary protection and as sun protection, roller shutters should be installed in front of the windows. Now I have been told that
a). conventional roller shutters are no longer feasible due to the height of the windows
b). the roller shutters do not provide protection against burglary
c). the roller shutter box in the masonry represents a weak point in thermal insulation
c). is clear enough, but what about a). and b).? Is that correct? What alternatives do I have? An externally mounted electric slatted blind, for example?
