L-shaped floor plan or rather rectangular with less garden?

Hi,
we will soon purchase a plot of land and are considering how to position the house on it. Since there is a horse chestnut tree facing the street, the building line makes a bend (see attachment). An initial floor plan draft would feature a rectangular house (11m x 9m) with a gable roof, which starts 6 meters (usual 3 meters to the street + 3 meters due to the 9.5m radius of the horse chestnut) from the street towards the garden. Now I have thought about including the 8x3m front yard in the floor plan to gain more garden space. This would be possible, for example, with an 8x7m house with a gable roof + a 4x4 flat roof extension.
What do you think?

You can only win if the design is adapted to the local conditions (building envelope, plot size, -shape, tree, light, shadow, ...).

Do you have a freely planning architect or are you working with a general contractor/general planner?

I would definitely include the chestnut (das Allerwertesten :D) in your architectural concept... a front garden with a (loose) swing on the tree, a path that splits and runs around the tree, a wooden (part) facade, maybe even a house with a quarter circle facing the chestnut and a kitchen with a view of it.

: Since we want a house specially designed for the property, we will work with an independent architect. I have already shortlisted a few who designed the houses of relatives/friends. : I like the attitude of seeing the positive side of the tree. I will remember that.

I took a closer look at the development plan again and if I haven't mismeasured completely, there would be the possibility to fit a 10x10 house exactly into the niche. The 3m distance to the neighboring property would be maintained and it would be at the edge of the building line, 3m from the street. I wouldn't see a problem with having the house close to the street since there are about 10 cars a day slowly passing by on the street, the children's room would be planned facing the garden, and modern triple-glazed windows would be installed. I also prefer a small front garden. Currently, a 10x10 house with a gable roof is planned as a modern version of the settlement houses from the 1920s. [Schöner Wohnen] has designed a heavy one under the name "Mono". I would have something like that planned for me, just with the living room downstairs and larger windows.

Sketch that out. Your property is supposed to be 426 - right? 10x10m with 3m from the street away is what I rather don’t see there.
