KNX smart home intercom recommendation - single-family house

Hello everyone,

I am currently thinking about the door intercom system for our house planning.
Friends of mine have recommended the Doorbird D2101V so far. (Price/performance is OK, although the cam quality is not so great)
Do you perhaps have any good alternatives you could suggest to me?

General info:
- House will be wired with KNX
- Fingerprint is already integrated directly into the door

I can't say much about KNX and fingerprint technology or their interaction with an intercom system, but I recently decided on the Metzler VDM10.

I also had the Doorbird on my radar, but found the Metzler more visually appealing and it is significantly more affordable with similarly good technical features such as viewing angle, etc.

I basically intend to hang an iPAD on the wall and use it, among other things, to operate the door.

Yes, I initially bought the set with an indoor station. More can be retrofitted for 120-150 EUR.
So far unfortunately without practical experience, hopefully more soon.

However, I am also an iOS user and am curious about the experiences with iPhone/iPad in this context.
Currently, I can't say much..., but in principle everything should work.

Intercom system and KNX actually only directly influence each other in cases where you want to fully integrate the intercom system into your visualization. Is something planned there? Gira HS, for example, preferably communicates with Gira, Jung Sachverständiger works great with Siedle, Basalte runs excellently with Siedle and 2N, etc., compatible intercoms are listed on the respective websites of the free visualizations (make sure that video really works!). If you also want to have the calls on the go in your visualization app, it gets a bit more exciting.

Otherwise, you could also take the intercom system "autonomous" and use its relays, for example via a binary input, to capture the doorbell signal (for further actions) and the door opener signal, to then open the door via KNX (never connect the door directly to the intercom station next door!).

I just commissioned several Doorbird 2101 units again recently, that works quite smoothly, also the integration into Control4 at these customers. Otherwise, I am a big fan of 2N.
