Kitchen planned, installation etc.

Hi,

we have been working with the kitchen planner for a few days now and have come to a good result both in terms of price and appearance, which I did not expect beforehand! :eek:
This morning we went to Ikea to have it checked again, but what I forgot to ask is whether, IF I order the kitchen, someone will come by and measure everything again? So exactly check if it fits as we planned?

Can someone confirm this or is it not the case and you are completely on your own?
I would also be interested to know how "complicated" and time-consuming the assembly is? Can you roughly say? At IKEA it should cost about €800, which seems a bit much to us.

at that time, however with three small children, we needed 15 days to dismantle the old kitchen, paint, lay new flooring, and assemble the new kitchen with 18 cabinets. We simply couldn't work through every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. For us, it was two people working about six hours a day each, but not always at the same time because of the children.
The electrical and water installations were already as they should be.
I didn’t find the assembly and installation of everything Ikea-related complicated. Just like assembling a Billy shelf only much more of it ;). The difficult part was mounting the wall cabinets because we live in an old building and the substrate constantly demanded new ideas for installation, so each anchor was a work of art. After all, it has to hold.
The installation of the appliances except for the stove, as well as the installation of the waste sorting system, were not yet available at Ikea at the time and were difficult because the assembly instructions were not very customer-friendly.
Back then there was no assembly service like today. We had an electrician connect the stove.
Maybe you should ask carpenters in your area if you don’t want to do it alone; maybe they’re cheaper.
Yes, when you order a kitchen from Ikea, no one automatically comes to your home to measure again. But if you mis-measured and in the end there’s no space for the intended cabinet, you just don’t unpack it and return it. For Personlig countertops there’s apparently a measuring service, but only once the base cabinets are already standing, which isn’t really comfortable.
When we bought our kitchen back then, especially because we wanted to plan autonomously, we chose Ikea, so we didn’t feel left alone but rather free to decide what we need and not what the kitchen studio just has to sell right now.
