Hello dear all,

I just viewed a small house to maybe buy it. It has about 80 m2 but only two rooms. The utility room with all connections (district heating/electricity/water/telecom) is somewhat oversized at 11 m2. The kitchen is 11.6 m2.

Is it permitted by building codes and fire protection regulations to build the kitchen line in the 11 m2 large house connection/utility room? All the lines should be present in that room, and the bathroom is adjacent behind it. Then maybe the lines going to the current kitchen could be decommissioned and this could be used as a third room. Both the kitchen and the utility room have a window. In the utility room, a wall to the bathroom is theoretically completely free for a kitchen line. The room is 2.4 m wide and 4.7 m long. On the 4.7 m long exterior wall are all the connections. To the right of the window is the district heating connection and to the left of the window all the other connections.

A water connection for the washing machine is already present in the room. But, for example, is the kitchen heavy current allowed in the same room as all the other connections?

I hope I was able to explain this somewhat understandably.
Thank you very much for your help
Best regards

There must be space in front of the fuse box to be able to work. 1.2m is what I have in mind, but I’m too lazy to look it up. There are requirements from the network operator and a DIN standard. Just google it.

My house water connection makes a relatively loud noise when water is running. No idea which component it is, but I wouldn’t want that in the kitchen.

In the kitchen, people would not primarily eat. We mostly eat in the living room dining area. Therefore, I thought everything that makes noise is allowed there
