Hi,

I hope I’m in the right place and not asking this question for the xxx-th time. If so, I apologize – I’m happy to be referred to an existing topic.

We are currently in the middle of construction and have already submitted most of the invoices through our bank, which were then paid to the developer. However, we have not yet used any KfW funds (as actually planned in the payment schedule). Now my question: can I also use investments like kitchen, floors, etc. for proof with the KfW Bank?

Best regards

The kitchen is not an investment within the meaning of KFW. Flooring is debatable.

Take a look at the PDFs of the KFW programs or the data sheets for the programs. It is actually very detailed there. KFW programs are always designed with a focus on energy-efficient renovation, so of course a kitchen does not count.

Basically, it's only about when the main loan and when the KfW loan are requested. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Actually. Because the financed construction project applies, so you can also cover the bricklayer installment with the KfW loan and don't have to wait for the insulation and heating phase. However, the financing, the later it gets, also concerns finishing work and later the outdoor facilities or the interior finishing. Everything that is paid out by the bank on account through EL (also outdoor facilities) could become problematic. In this respect, I would put the said loan directly into the house view, everything else would be too risky for me. The kitchen belongs to the furniture and not to the KfW or any other construction financing. Only it can of course

Our contact person at the bank said that it doesn't matter at all which loan we use to pay for what, because it all counts. In this respect, I would say, talk to your bank about it.

I agree, in part. The entire construction project counts. And an additionally co-financed kitchen is definitely no longer part of the construction project. Whether working out, roof, heating, or masonry, on the other hand, doesn't matter.
