Hello everyone!
We plan to renovate an inherited single-family house (built in 1982). As part of the renovation, we also want to extend the living room with a 36 sqm extension to the back into the garden. Now I came across the following passage in the KfW funding program 261:
"With this promotional loan, we also support you if you convert an area that was previously not habitable into living space."
According to the KfW information sheet (section 1.5), this means in detail:
"The extension of existing residential buildings, e.g., by an annex, or the conversion of previously unheated rooms, e.g., attic conversion, is eligible for funding under the BEG EM as well as under the BEG WG as renovation."
I am now a bit confused because I was under the impression that loans in program 261 are only granted if an efficiency house standard is achieved as an overall level. Or how should this measure with the extension be classified? I mean, of course, the extension will be built according to the current Building Energy Act regulations, but we will not achieve a complete efficiency house level with it. Will the extension only be eligible for funding if it is attached to an existing efficiency house??
Best regards,
Chris
