KFW 55 vs KFW 40 Funding (+) Measures

Hello everyone, as is widely known, the KFW 55 subsidy will unfortunately be discontinued as of 01.02.2022 and it is quite unrealistic to submit the application in time (also due to current capacity constraints with competent energy consultants). We are aware that every house must be calculated individually regarding energy measures, but we are still interested in which measures you have implemented to qualify for the KFW 40 (+) subsidy. Heating? Ventilation system? Windows? Insulation? Photovoltaics? ... Best regards xstelas

Insulation under the floor slab, exterior walls with better [wlg], thicker insulated roof, battery for the photovoltaic system.

Air-to-water heat pump, central controlled residential ventilation and photovoltaic system were wanted anyway.

Currently, I have

- Floor slab insulation
- Roof insulation
- Alternative front door

Controlled residential ventilation and air-water heat pump were already included.
As a result, I had (almost) no additional cost when taking the increased subsidy into account.

Depends on each house. How much additional effort you have can really only be told to you by your general contractor/architect.

In our case, the walls (40 cm Ytong) and ceiling were already sufficient, only a bit more insulation was needed under the floor slab. The general contractor didn’t even charge extra for that. Ventilation (decentralized in our case) and photovoltaics were already planned.

I remember but do not quite recall what exactly you are building (a single-family house with a shed roof, but: "prefabricated" or "solid"?). Those building with stone often have more difficulty with the upgrade than those building with wood. In stone, KfW40 instead of 55 often also means that the general contractor then offers an ETICS instead of a monolithic wall structure (consider my stone mantra in this regard, insofar as the general contractor may so far only rarely have "sold" the now required different wall structure). Does the question have a significant budget dimension for you, i.e. does the "kickback" of the delta between subsidy money and additional costs of measures have a decisive influence in your favor on whether the planned house is possible as planned or has to be significantly downsized?
