Topic missed. I am pretty sure that the OP does not want to know that. He wants to know how to prevent the GREEN. In the past, this was regularly achieved with pesticides. Today, a small hoe does the job.

There are also these electric weed burners... Does anyone have experience with them?

@TE regarding prevention: I don’t think there is a product that protects against growth for 10 years. It gets washed out, or new material accumulates on top and then a plant that is satisfied with that grows there as well. You can’t prevent that.

I am not doing anything at all. The vegetation is also limited. Some moss and at the edge some plant from my garden has sown itself. However, the area is also relatively heavily trafficked. Absolute no parking probably does not apply to locals.

I’m not bothered by the green either. But we have already received nasty letters from the municipality because we wouldn’t remove the weeds often enough... Since then, I burn it off every few weeks, but of course a passive solution would be preferable for me...

(For you) passive would be a goat... With other disadvantages. I would be interested if we had more space. But with the neighbors, you make yourself unpopular with it.

Why? Biodiversity, bees and flowers, vegetation provides a natural anti-slip effect on black ice?
Here, only sweeping, spreading grit, and snow removal are included in the regulations. Hmm, I have to check again.
But as I said, surprisingly little grows there.

I do understand that you want a low-maintenance solution. The weed-free sand is not supposed to help for very long. I only know this by word of mouth. Slurry coating with mortar/concrete is apparently the most effective solution.
