At our place, the joints were plastered over by the finishers, with the joint tape underneath. And it definitely belonged to the drywall work.

I agree as well! Painting work includes wallpapering and painting... they can't deliver you open cracks!
So persistently demand the drywall work!

Hello,

Who plastered the joints of the gypsum boards?

Rhenish greetings

According to our construction performance description, this also falls under drywall work.

So I wouldn’t worry about who does what... because the settlement cracks appear, and very quickly at that, as certain as Amen in church...

and whether there’s a bit of acrylic on it or filler or whatever... it will crack open, simply due to the fact that one material is plaster and the other is masonry made of whatever... and in the next 2-3 years the cracks will get bigger or if you (have someone) renew the joints, the cracks will come back...

so it’s totally irrelevant who does what, because it’s basically wasted effort for the next few years... once the moisture is gone you can start thinking about it...

I'll join in here, hope that's okay, I don't necessarily want to start a new thread. I also have a spontaneous question in mind.

We want to do the interior finishing ourselves in our prefab house (timber frame construction). Both the walls and the ceiling are covered with drywall, the joints are roughly filled. That's sufficient for us because we plan to plaster.

But how does it behave with the plaster? We want to plaster both walls and ceiling. We don't want such decorative moldings. Should one leave a minimal gap between the plaster on the wall and ceiling to avoid contact and fill that with some acrylic so that it doesn't crack as quickly if the acrylic is more flexible?

Thanks to you.
