Is underfloor heating necessary in the shower? What do you think about it?

There is really something happening here. Underfloor heating and radiators in the basement are now installed.

Now we have to wait for the screed [emoji6] Let's see if it will happen next week [emoji848]

However, I do not understand why the insulation in the shower area of the guest bathroom is a bit deeper and there is no underfloor heating. They are tiling there after all. I can understand it upstairs with the shower tray. I need to talk to our site manager about this tomorrow.

Was the underfloor heating ordered under the shower?

According to our architect and also the tiler, it is common that no underfloor heating is installed in the shower area. It can be done, but it is rather uncommon?! We were also told that in some regions there are problems due to high lime content in the water, because the water evaporates too quickly and the tiles in that area quickly become limescaled. No idea if that is true...

just blah blah to get rid of the customer... water evaporates even without underfloor heating... with underfloor heating, however, showering is significantly more pleasant.

That would be new to me as well, besides, we usually don’t care about what is "üblich". Of course, the underfloor heating also goes into the shower, especially in not-so-large bathrooms you need the space anyway to help heat...
