Is this sink compatible with this faucet?

Good morning,

please advise professionally. I have a washbasin and a faucet, and I am unsure whether they are compatible.

The washbasin is without an overflow. According to the plumbing company, a faucet without a drain fitting must therefore be used.

My desired fitting (Swedish subsidiary of Villeroy+Boch, called Gustavsberg) looks like this:


Does this fit together in terms of overflow/drain fitting?

The actual fitting has nothing to do with the drain. This simply means that fittings can be ordered with or without a drain, as well as with or without an overflow connection.

For a washbasin without overflow, one should use a washbasin faucet without a pull rod drain set and a drain valve without overflow function (no push button or pop-up function).

An overflow connection is part of the drain fitting that helps the water in the basin - if water is accidentally left running - to drain away. Since you have a basin without overflow, it was written:

sollte man eine Waschtischarmatur ohne Zugstangen-Ablauf-Garnitur

so with a lever on the side, behind... whatever, should not be used, as that can be part of a fitting and

einen Ablaufventil ohne Überlauf Funktion (keine Push Button oder Pop-Up Funktion) nehmen.
