No, it's just a joint, large contract for both of us. But yes, of course, those are the first things you could cut back on when the time comes. Thanks to all of you anyway!

But even for a joint contract, that's still a lot...we pay together around 30€ for something and have all the data volume, flat rate, etc. that we need.

Hello,
in the context of [Baufinanzierung], the topic of [Risikolebensversicherung] has now also come up. So far, we haven't given it much thought, but with such a huge loan, of course, it is necessary.
How did you approach the topic?
Two separate contracts or connected [RLV]?
Term as long as the expected loan / until the "expected" adulthood / financial independence of the children?
Sum insured equal to the loan amount, or decreasing sum insured?
I am currently already comparing some insurance policies, but I would also like to read your opinions / approaches on it.

Be careful which way you insure them. As far as I know, it makes more sense to insure each other than for each person to take out an RLV for themselves.

Yes, but that applies mainly to unmarried couples because the insurance benefit is subject to inheritance tax and unmarried couples only have an exemption amount of EUR 20,000. Spouses have an exemption amount of EUR 500,000; you have to reach that first. Our insured sum will at least not be nearly that high. But yes, you are right, you can insure each other crosswise and completely avoid inheritance tax, if I understood that correctly.

50% of the property value + sum of the RLV + other. You quickly reach the 500k
