Is the neighbor's ventilation system set too high and therefore too loud?

Hello mycraft,

could you recommend a type of hood? According to [Sanitärbetrieb], the existing hood is already the absolute top...

And I would be interested to know again whether the ratio of supply air/exhaust air possibly also indicates an incorrect setting in the exhaust air.

Possibly the problem is already solved if the exhaust air volume flow is closer to the supply air volume flow.

It is a simple sheet metal hood and is available, for example, from Wolf. So claiming that this is the pinnacle of what is possible is quite exaggerated. I actually find the Vallox hood to be much superior. But to what extent that would solve your problem or not would have to be tested. The systems usually do that automatically. You have no influence on that anyway. A pressure imbalance (in both directions) is only possible to a limited extent.

Sounds pretty normal overall and yes, the things are relatively loud outside, similar to a heat pump.

Very interesting problem and detailed analysis/conclusion from the observations. Did you measure the flow velocity together, or is this an undercover project? One might suspect that your profession is physics teacher.

I have the same throttle on the wall, but the device is not yet in operation. I just found the option for silencers for supply and exhaust air at Wolf right away.

I have already bookmarked the silencers for my system.

Hello OWLers,

Physics teacher? I was glad I didn’t have a 5 :D But I’m good with numbers and interested in mathematics. For that, I have no idea about the technology behind it.

Regarding the measurement: yes, I conducted it myself without neighbors; BUT: I didn’t enter any gardens or climb over fences. The exhaust air outlet is right in front of their front door, which faces our garden. I wouldn’t do that either if a hurricane came from the system ;)
