Is the canopy over the entrance too dark?

we do not have a canopy at the entrance but a niche built into the house around the corner, which is 94 cm deep.

Despite the fact that the niche is covered by the ceiling to the upper floor, it is neither too dark in the niche nor in the hallway behind the door (except at night... ).

Although the entrance faces west (the weather side), the 94 cm provide absolutely sufficient protection from rain.

So far, our front door has only gotten wet from rain once – but it was so stormy then that even a 2 m deep canopy would not have helped.

Okay, that reassures me a bit. I am curious. Just now been there again to discuss some minor imperfections and I find it amazing what the interior doors make; it immediately feels like a house - it doesn't yet feel like my house, but well - hopefully it will.

It's a matter of taste and has to fit the house. For example, I couldn't do anything with such a glass thingy. If I had been in charge, it could have turned out even more like a "front porch" for us. Like with room for a rocking chair, shotgun, and scruffy shepherd dog.
Painting it light doesn't really make the inside of our house any darker.

I like the canopy from nasenmann.

: Cleaning is not a problem. We can reach it from two sides with the ladder. However, it hasn't been cleaned yet. It has only been installed since Christmas. And we don’t have a cleaning demon in the house.

Can you rent the Putzteufel? We also have a need... we have now considered buying a (Putz)-Kobold so that at least someone vacuums regularly. I think ours will also go in the direction of Nasenmann - whether it will be as fancy, of course, I don't know.
