Is the base plate too deep (planned)?

Hi guys,
I was at the construction site today and am a bit surprised how deep our house is... maybe I’m being fooled by the construction site here, but I just googled it and most have the finished floor level about 30 cm above ground.

If the slab really is too deep, it would explain why we have so much excavation. (Architect said during planning there wouldn’t be much excavation, it can be distributed on the plot)

Cheers
Marvin

Who says the finished floor slab level should be 30cm above ground? Basically, the floor slab is brought to the height that the architect planned and that you approved. In other words, it is executed as you approved it or the shell construction worker really mismeasured. There is no standard for the height of floor slabs. On the raw floor, there will be another 20cm floor structure anyway, right?

What does the submitted planning say where the cross-section or the view is depicted? It shows the relation of the floor slab to the ground.

Besides, there are already exterior walls on it! Where were you when the floor slab was poured or the insulation was laid? If the floor slab is really too low, then it’s already too late anyway.

The site was surveyed when there was no road yet, and they oriented themselves by a manhole.

The concrete slab was probably poured in the middle of the week; I was traveling for business all week. Yesterday my wife was on site with the construction manager, and she also inquired whether it was not too deep. The construction manager thought everything was fine so far!

Ok, there is no standard for concrete slab height, but are there people who burrow themselves?

But I can see that the plate is right next to the street, isn't it? Or are your photos deceiving?

That is hard to see, but I would estimate OK slab is about 20-30cm lower than the curb edge. Then there is the screed on top, but even then I am certainly still below ground level. Even if the slab is flush with the drain, it will probably be impossible to achieve a slope away from the house, or am I seeing this wrong?
