Is repositioning the heat pump sensible or unnecessary?

Hello forum,

our heat pump needs to be reconnected. Therefore, we now have the opportunity to reposition the outdoor unit (Nibe F2040-8) more or less cost-neutrally.

The background is the disturbing noise of the outdoor unit in the bedroom.

I have attached four pictures:

Current state:
- Yellow: bedroom
- Red: front door
- Black: driveway

The picture with the red circle shows the current position of the heat pump, with the red X the alternative position.

Additionally, a carport is planned as shown in the planning picture.

The remaining points are unfortunately more or less fixed. To put it mildly, the planning at this spot was rubbish, but it was well sold.

Nibe itself recommends not positioning it on walls adjacent to bedrooms. I know that by now, too. Hence the idea to relocate the unit. But before we start everything, I want to ask everyone if there is anything else to consider.

Thanks for the tips.

Hello I have now read the thread twice and to be honest did not understand it.

My concern is the noise pollution in the own bedroom, especially if we build a carport above it. I have now tried to search all topics where the title could fit somewhat, but found nothing. Maybe someone is familiar with it

Are other rooms affected after the conversion?
Does it obstruct the passage? How is the surrounding area otherwise?
Why does it need to be reconnected at all?

In terms of space, it "disturbs" as much in both positions as an outdoor unit usually disturbs. But it has to stand somewhere. We can live with that.

The heat pump was not connected correctly (presumably contact of some components with the masonry). In any case, a new core drilling is to be done and all lines renewed. Since the carport is also to be built now, new foundations would also be quickly made. Therefore, now the consideration to move the outdoor unit.

On the other side there is the front door and the guest WC. The noise disturbance in the WC is negligible.

The current problem is that the outdoor unit disturbs in the bedroom. We would shield it somewhat with a carport, but I also don’t want to build a "trumpet." If we move the outdoor unit, it will stand at the wall of the front door.

My question was: leave the heat pump where it is and put the carport over it or place it on the eaves side. On the eaves side, the outdoor unit has about double the distance to fences, etc. However, the ground there slopes upwards. I hope that can be seen in the pictures.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not want to make any statement about the optimal location. So here is my question whether someone has experienced something like this or can at least report from experience. I couldn’t find anything comparable in my search.
