Hello everyone, I am new here and now the owner of a terraced house. My grandma left it to me and I want to use it myself.

Now to my concern; the house has an old attached laundry room (8x3 meters), which is half half, meaning the other half belongs to the neighbor. In there I want to accommodate a bathroom and hallway. However, the extension is so dilapidated that it has to be demolished.

I have an offer for the following services regarding the extension:
- Separate the neighbor’s pitched roof
- Demolition and disposal of the extension
- New floor slab
- New screed in the kitchen
- Rebuild walls
- Interior construction with drywall
- Tiling the bathroom including tiles 16.50€ per sqm
- New roof, completely 8x3m with gutters etc., which stands 50 cm higher than the old one (to gain ceiling height)
- 5 windows
- 1 front door

The extension would then be completely new, the neighbor’s roof separated and raised, bathroom would be almost finished, I would only have to do the following myself:
- Buy and install ceramics in the bathroom
- Wallpaper and floor the new hallway
- Do the bathroom ceiling

Cost for the extension: 50,000€ I find that very expensive but while I’m typing here, I think quite a lot is included.

I attached the floor plan. Maybe I should rather put the kitchen outside with access to the garden and the bathroom inside?

I would be glad if someone could tell me if this is too expensive or if it’s even worth investing that much?! Inside the house only wallpaper, floors and a few doors need to be redone.

What does the building authority say about your idea? Is it allowed to replace the extension with a new one, or does the extension fall under existing rights? If the latter, in my opinion you are only allowed to renovate, and the question arises again whether living space can be built on the border. What is in the neighbor’s extension? Rhenish greetings

Hello, that's not what it's about for me, everything is all set, everything legally okay and done with the architect.

Um, no, why should I? That has nothing to do with my question! That’s unbelievable, what is my profession doing in a forum?? So potential providers can see where to get money or what? Forget it

Then please delete myProfile and post immediately!

Ever thought about the fact that the respondents here invest a lot of time? You don’t have to waste more time by explaining the basics of business administration to a banker or telling an electrician that he needs a master craftsman to approve electrician’s own work, just because he is too proud to state his profession. By the way, you agreed to the forum rules when registering. (see point 1.2.)
