Yesterday I wrote to someone and they just responded very kindly.
Unfortunately, we have no experience with gilding zinc parts, as we do not gild zinc parts ourselves. If a customer wants gilded elements, we make them from stainless steel or, if possible, from copper. The first important thing is whether it is a gilding for indoor or outdoor use. It should also be considered which method you want to use for the gilding. I think the classic mechanical methods, such as oil gilding or Instacoll gilding, are rather not recommended, as zinc tends to easily outgas, which causes small bubbles to form under the gold layer and eventually causes it to peel off. Try it chemically, that is, galvanically, but as mentioned, since zinc is quite sensitive to all kinds of chemicals, success is not guaranteed.
