Well .. I also have a car - a used car. Even a few stocks, which are considered dividend stocks, but you can't count on that either. They can fail sometimes. But if you can't build a house with 2.6K net, then I do wonder what others have to earn to manage that.

It is absolutely logical that you would have to cut back if you live in luxury, but I certainly do not (the luxury part).

How do, for example, a car mechanic and a "simple" office worker, who together usually don't have much more ..??

They simply won't be able to build if they haven't just inherited a piece of land and are not saving 1000€ every month because they can live rent-free somewhere.

You couldn't either if you didn't have a plot of land. You also have to consider what the banks calculate. The land counts as equity for you...

And one must not underestimate that in the generation of those now aged 25-35, an incredible number of people are inheriting... and with a good six-figure amount of equity, even people with lower incomes can then build. I know several people in my circle of friends who don’t really earn much, but have no problem buying houses from €500K upwards, simply because large six-figure sums are inherited and thus an equity ratio far beyond 50% is available.

Oh, really? You are waiting for your relatives to die so that you can inherit some money?

I hope you meant it differently than how you wrote it.
