Is an oven and ventilation sensible?

Hello, we are building in the summer and included is also a ventilation system. (almost standard in new buildings).

Now my wife wants a stove in the living room (just for coziness).

Does that cause any difficulties, what are the experiences?

I am unsure if that is advisable.

(if important. The living room has an open gable and is about 40-50 sqm in size)

As a child, we also had an open [Kamin] in the living room, very nice and cozy, but a dirt magnet.
The thing is maybe turned on 3 times, then it's no longer used because the place gets way too warm. A pretty expensive fun...

Sure, it works, but for that, you have to plan the system completely differently – it simply can't supply as much air as the [Kamin] consumes. Better ask a professional for details.

Wouldn't a slightly larger ethanol [Kamin] work in an emergency? It's cozy too, we once had one in a hotel room.

There are not just some, it is even mandatory to take a room air-independent one. Additionally, it must be DIbt approved.

So our stove and the associated chimney are absolutely pointless in my eyes. Even for the sake of coziness...
