Not only during the transition period. I know people who turn the heating down as much as possible in the living area because they light the stove in the evening anyway.

The only person who can tell you this reliably and legally is your local district chimney sweep. So ask there; without their approval, nothing works during the later commissioning. Even if 200 people here have told you: "it's fine."

The central heat source as such should not be underestimated. You don't have that with underfloor heating.

I generally find fireplaces a gimmick, but a nice one... they are quite cozy, especially in the winter months... on the other hand, I wouldn’t put one in the hallway... rather only where you actually spend time. You don’t spend much time in the hallway during the day.

Actually the stove in the hallway? Or just the loading from the hallway? Without a viewing window in the living area? Then arguments about the feeling of well-being when looking at the fire are probably out of the question and it’s only about heat production, or am I seeing this wrong?

Feeling of well-being, but without direct view. So in the corner of the hallway near the kitchen and living room. I think there is a cozy feeling when the stove is burning – maybe in the transitional season – and all the room doors are open.
