Is a building permit retrospectively required for a 45 sqm carport in SH?

Hello everyone, I have the following problem: During the planning of our house, the parking spaces were also drawn in. The architect stated that nothing else needed to be drawn in, as no further information was required for the building application. That was 2 years ago. Now we wanted to tackle the subject of a double carport with an adjoining shed and found out that since the end of last year in Schleswig Holstein a building application is necessary (from 30 sqm). This is very frustrating because it could have been taken care of by the architect back then. We are wondering if there is a way without this building permit? Or do we have to bite the bullet and invest around 3000€ for the building application, drawing, and structural analysis? We are currently trying to find solutions. If we had built a double carport six or nine months ago, we would not have needed a building application for it. Now we do... Can you follow and show us possible ways? Thank you.

Where is my contribution gone? There was nothing forbidden in it?

So again in brief:
- Separate the buildings, so carport and shed separately, possibly two carports.
- Observe the maximum boundary development.
- Carport providers often have a building permit service that costs significantly less than 3,000 EUR.

… could have been. You have not, so you must submit a building application. That certainly does not cost 3000€. The costs depend, as far as I know, on the object being applied for, but it may be different in SH, for example via a flat rate.

That would actually be possible? So initially set up a double carport up to 30 sqm (no permit required). And then at some point set up a separate storage room / shed (e.g. biohort) next to it (as long as the 9m length at the neighbor’s boundary is observed).

I had already made a few inquiries where the costs for a drawing + structural analysis would amount to about 2,500 EUR gross. In addition, there would be administrative fees. Hence my question here whether this could be avoided.

I am neither a surveyor nor a lawyer, but I would say yes. It just has to be clearly a separate building. So a shared roof or shared wall is not possible. I also plan to do it that way, and to be on the safe side and make it absolutely clear, I will make two shed roofs one behind the other with the same pitch direction. So, viewed in profile, the roofs then form a zigzag. As I said, you have to look with the carport providers, they offer such a service right away. They find it easy because they already have the necessary documents on hand.

Thanks for the info. The building authority also confirmed this again. As long as the carport or storage room does not exceed 30sqm. Then we will probably do it that way as well. Thanks
