Hello everyone,

we are doing the entire interior construction of the house ourselves and are currently facing the question of whether the interior walls should be completely made of drywall or if we should have them built with masonry instead. Drywall would of course be cheaper and more flexible. However, we have concerns regarding a possible resale. The house is otherwise being built solidly from KS.

I would therefore be very grateful for advice and opinions.

Have a nice weekend!

If the house is going to be built with KS anyway, I would also have the company do it. There were few masonry hours for interior walls with us... the right equipment is there, the personnel and material can be lifted in with a crane... I see no reason for self-performance there.

Masonry interior walls - especially made of KS - must also be structurally feasible. What does the structural analysis say?

Hmm, that is a good question. The architect didn't say anything about it. Only that both are possible. Drywall or masonry. I will therefore assume that it fits the structural requirements. But I will ask again to be sure.

We currently live with exclusively drywall partitions and I see no disadvantage; previously we had masonry brick walls. When selling at some point, no one will definitely want to lower the price because of knocking on the wall. I do not see a loss in value due to drywall, but rather the advantage of more flexible design or modification.

Our first feeling was also. Drywall - No, I don't want that. But it also has advantages on 11.5 cm wall thickness compared to KS 11.5. This way, a good level of sound insulation can be achieved through double paneling and, as already mentioned, it is very fast and flexible.
