Hello everyone,
I have already received good help here with various interior construction questions, so I'll try again here for the interior doors.

I am thinking of a CPL surface. (Should be white.)
I think it can withstand quite a bit, but there are the edges – that is, the corners and the narrow strips on the door sides, where apparently CPL strips are glued on. (?)
So the edges are probably the Achilles' heel of the doors, I suppose. Do I have to expect that pieces will chip off these edges over the years or that this strip will peel off?
My parents have real wood veneer, and there it is such that it gets bumped on the edges and then "peels off."

CPL seemed to me the most practical option in terms of price-performance ratio for my moderate door budget.
(There is probably a simpler foil coating below that price, but that actually seems too short-lived to me.)

By the way: I have absolutely no experience with painted doors, do they just look nicer or do they also have practical advantages?

Thanks + regards

We have painted doors (white) with slightly rounded edges. Looks nice, no transitions but "seamless". Advantages? So far none visible compared to our old foil-covered doors. However, they feel more prone to dents.

Thanks to you. The door consultant has now advised me by phone to go with CPL with a rounded edge. Allegedly, there is only a "seam" on/at the rebate (at least on the narrow side of the door with the lock) where the foil starts and ends. In this respect, there are no seams exactly at the edges of the door, which reassures me. Anyone who has had good or bad experiences with this rounded edge can still feel free to get in touch.
