Hello Jann,

often one reads about white lacquer CPL doors for interior doors? I thought it was either one or the other? Which doors would you recommend material-wise for a house with children? Hollow core chipboard? Sufficient regarding sound and robustness?

What exactly does “undercut” mean?

Undercut means raising the door above the floor so that air can flow underneath. Usually, it is about 2 cm for ventilation so that the exhaust can also pull in air.

It is either lacquer or CPL. CPL is a coating; lacquer, as mentioned, is painted.

Hollow core board is sufficient, but there are also differences here. The standard DIY store door has a less strong top layer, meaning the frame to the core. It simply must not be too light. For sound insulation, it is also important that the frame is fully foamed so that no air remains.

By the way, we currently install Prüm doors with CPL in white. I can gladly look up the basic data tomorrow.

However, it is a rental apartment but of medium to upper standard.

Best regards

I would also be interested in which doors exactly. With CPL, there is the premium edge; we just haven’t understood yet whether only the door has the premium edge or also the frame.

Household with children - better CPL. Just stays nice longer. Requirement for controlled residential ventilation to be clarified. Choose the edge according to your own taste - it doesn't matter what it's called.

We have CPL doors from Prüm and are very satisfied with them; no dents occur when you accidentally bump into them. For the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung], the normal door gap of 5mm-1cm is usually sufficient, we have not shortened the doors anywhere and installed them normally, it works with the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung].

Best regards
Sabine
