Unnecessary, because the small home battery only makes the large car battery roll its eyes tiredly. Easy, most PV systems have so-called Smart Grid Ready contacts. They close when surplus is available. With that, you can do things, as most heat pumps also have something like this. Or you can switch something entirely of your own. When the photovoltaic system talks to the wallbox, you can, for example, charge your car with surplus electricity, provided you are at home during the day. Dishwashers could run with surplus, air conditioning units could cool the house with the last rays of the sun before you come home, etc. The latter ideas require a certain level of intelligence in some form, e.g., a logic server, a small home automation on a Pi, or similar. It may also be worth taking a look at OpenWB.

Yes, that is good advice. I would gladly optimize the solar surface as much as possible. Size counts.

Here I come back to my point about holism. For me, these are implementations that clearly exceed my abilities and also my level of interest. For that, I would have to dig very deeply into the individual technologies. That’s why I really find it a pity that there is probably no service provider in a normal construction project who brings all these loose ends together. Difficult.

Of course they exist, they are called system integrators. But they are rarely used in typical home construction projects in Germany because they are either too expensive for the builders or the builders look for the "smartness" from the electrician, who is overwhelmed with it in 8-9 out of 10 cases.

We will probably use KNX as the standard and install some components. I had planned to use a system integrator anyway. Possibly I can get him for the overarching role.

I am very sure that a good system integrator does exactly that all the time, otherwise he would be purely a KNXer. He calls himself a system integrator because he integrates systems.
