Is there actually an insurance that covers something like that? Natural disaster insurance or something?

There is currently no damage present or in the making.

Just asking out of interest if you can insure yourself for the future? Moisture damage in prefabricated wooden houses is quite a significant issue, especially with the extreme weather conditions that sometimes occur nowadays.

Do you mean water damage caused by flooding? That is covered by the natural hazard insurance. The problem is... if you really need one, you will hardly be able to get or afford one, and if you do get one, you will hardly need it. Flood-prone areas are not easily insurable.

No, I was more asking whether it is possible to somehow protect oneself against moisture damage on or in the facade?

Despite the base protection with gravel strips, etc., yeah, the wind actually causes the snow to be blown against the house or the facade and partly piles up at the base.

I then walk around with the snow shovel and try to push the snow away.

I don’t have a picture of the facade right now, but you can already see at the fence how high the snow is drifting, and the fence or its bottom edge already stands 5-10 cm above the lawn surface due to the post holders and the terrain slope.

Maybe the thoughts I have are nonsense and unfounded if snow lies around the facade for 3 days and not for weeks, but nowadays there is such a fuss about facade protection that it’s best to wrap a timber frame construction in cotton wool and not move in at all.
