Insurance as a homeowner

The household insurance is certainly not necessarily needed.

Not necessarily, but valuable in cases of:

Burglary/theft/vandalism/fire/(extinguishing) water damage?

We have building and household contents insurance. Nothing more.
We have legal protection insurance, but for other reasons. Not because of a house.

We have legal protection anyway,
Private/Traffic/Rent (or now just homeownership)

Basically, I need to take a look at the building, we do not have floods, I don't really know about heavy rain.

No, I don't have legal protection insurance yet.

The previous owner of my house liked to sue all the neighbors. Over total trivialities. With friends and a coworker, it's unfortunately similar—it's about hedges, tree roots, tree pruning, too bright LED outdoor lighting, non-existent noise, etc. Everything is done directly through lawyers and courts without having spoken a personal word beforehand. Some (old) people do this purely out of boredom. From a defensive standpoint, legal protection insurance does make sense.

One probably has to consider whether one can/wants to pay the lawyer’s fees themselves in case of doubt for an [RSV]. We have one, which I have used once so far when returning my leased vehicle. With the household insurance, make sure whether garden items are covered. Our neighbors had their entire garden furniture and lawn mower robot taken.
