Yes, I’m into bunker walls ;)

Thicker walls mean better heat retention (although KS is probably less critical in this regard), better sound insulation, and fewer problems when chasing for pipes (or fewer problems if they were chased incorrectly).

Hello,

**Heat storage in sand-lime brick:**

Due to the high thermal conductivity of exterior walls, additional thermal insulation is indispensable in order to meet the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance.

**[B]S
ound insulation[B]:**

Sand-lime bricks have a very high bulk density, so they are very heavy. As a result, they have very good properties with regard to sound insulation. Since they are also very pressure-resistant, thin, highly load-bearing walls with very good sound insulation can be built using sand-lime bricks.

The technical regulations determine how to "chase" and – as it should be – the DIN.

"More" is therefore not always the ultimate wisdom ;)

I was referring to heat storage. The more mass in the house, the longer it stays cool during a short heat period, and the longer it takes for the house to cool down when the heating fails. Of course, KS with ETICS is better in this regard anyway, as almost the entire mass is insulated on the outside, whereas in a monolithic construction, almost half the mass is uninsulated.

...and to which all executing laborers and DIY enthusiasts always strictly adhere in the owners’ most beautiful dreams.
